Mold Design
Determine the mold structure: Based on the molding process and product characteristics, determine the overall structure of the mold, including mold type, mold frame specifications, number of cavities, demolding mechanism, cooling system, etc. For complex hardware molds, it may also be necessary to design special mechanisms, such as sliders and inclined tops.
Detailed design: Complete the detailed design of each component of the mold, draw 2D engineering drawings, and mark dimensions, tolerances, surface roughness, and other technical requirements. During the design process, fully consider the processability of components and assembly process to ensure that the mold can be manufactured and assembled smoothly.
Design review: Organize the design team, manufacturing team, and relevant experts to review the mold design plan, checking whether the design meets product requirements, whether the structure is reasonable, and whether there are issues such as interference or insufficient strength. Modify and improve the issues raised during the review to ensure the feasibility and reliability of the design plan.
Mold Manufacturing
Raw material procurement: Purchase suitable mold steel and other raw materials according to design requirements, ensuring that the quality and performance of the materials meet the requirements. Inspect the purchased raw materials, including hardness, metallographic structure, dimensional accuracy, etc., to prevent unqualified materials from entering the production process.
Component processing: Process the mold components using various processing equipment according to the mold design drawings and process requirements, such as milling, drilling, and boring using CNC machining centers, electrical discharge machining for complex cavities and electrodes, and wire cutting for cutting the mold's shape and inner holes.
Mold assembly: After cleaning and deburring the processed mold components, assemble them according to the assembly drawings. During the assembly process, strictly control the assembly accuracy to ensure that the relative positions and fit gaps of each component meet the design requirements. Use appropriate assembly processes and tools, such as press-fitting and hot assembly, to ensure that the components are assembled firmly and reliably.
