  • Introduction

    The turbine flow meter is based on the principle of torque balance and belongs to velocity-type flow instruments. This flow meter has advantages such as simple structure, lightweight, high accuracy, good reproducibility, sensitive response, and convenient installation and maintenance. It is widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, water supply, and papermaking, making it an ideal instrument for flow measurement and energy saving.

    Working Principle

    When the fluid flows through the sensor housing, the angle between the blades of the impeller and the flow direction causes the fluid's impact to generate a torque that overcomes frictional torque and fluid resistance. The blades rotate until torque balance is achieved, stabilizing the rotational speed. Under certain conditions, the rotational speed is proportional to the flow rate. Since the blades are magnetically conductive, they are in the magnetic field of a signal detector (composed of permanent magnets and coils). The rotating blades cut through magnetic lines of force, periodically changing the magnetic flux in the coil, which induces electrical pulse signals at both ends of the coil. This signal is amplified and shaped by an amplifier to form a continuous rectangular pulse wave with a certain amplitude that can be transmitted to a display instrument to show the instantaneous flow or total amount of fluid. Within a certain flow range, the pulse frequency f is proportional to the instantaneous flow Q of the fluid passing through the sensor.
